I am an Assistant Professor at Georgia Southern University with a joint appointment in the Department of Political Science and International Studies and the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology. Specializing in terrorism and counterterrorism, criminology, quantitative and computational methods, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and policymaking. My research and teaching focus on homeland security, terrorism in Africa, big data analysis, quantitative and computational methodology, criminal justice, and natural language processing (NLP), with a commitment to connecting academic scholarship to real-world security challenges.
I bring an interdisciplinary toolkit that combines quantitative and qualitative methods, computational skills (R, Python, STATA, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and LaTeX), and policy analysis. My work aims to inform effective counterterrorism and criminology strategies, support evidence-based policymaking, and contribute to training the next generation of scholars and practitioners.
Beyond academia, I am passionate about leveraging technology for social good, strengthening institutions, and applying data-driven insights to pressing global security and governance issues.
